filter care
These filters are made to be durable, and to use everyday! Here are some recommended ways to care for your filter, and make sure they last for as long as possible.
- When you first get your filter you will need to sterilize it! Boil your filter in water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda for 10 minutes.
- It's also a good idea to "season" your filter after sterilization. This is done by brewing a small batch of coffee with your new filter. Once you've made a small batch of coffee, empty the grounds, and hang to dry.
tip! Use old coffee grounds so you don't have to use up any of your fresh coffee beans during the sterilization process!
- We recommend that at least once a month you will need to boil your filter in hot water with 1 tsp of baking soda; this clears up any oils that were trapped in the fabric.
